Commission adopts new anti-terrorism tools

The European Commission Today adopted a communication outlining the main options for the EU to set up its own financial data-analysis system and establishing a European Terrorist Finance Tracking System (TFTS). According to EU Home Affairs Commissioner Cecilia Malmström, the EU needed “to find a European solution for extracting the requested data on European soil”.

A new partnership for European Security

On 10th of February 2011, the Security and Defence Agenda (SDA) and the European Organisation for Security (EOS) organised a conference to discuss the future of European security. The conference welcomed more than 20 speakers and 200 participants from both sides of the public-private divide. The debates centered on the implementation of the European Internal Security Strategy focusing on four principle areas: border security, disaster control and civil protection, cybersecurity and transport security.
